National Business Climate Index Kept Booming up in the First Quarter of 2010

Business Climate Survey results of NBS in whole country showed that the national business climate index (BCI) was 132.9 in the first quarter of 2010, booming up by 2.3 points quarter-on-quarter.

The BCIs of various industries stayed in the business climate zone for four consecutive quarters. In the first quarter, the BCI of industry stood at 130.1, increased 2.0 points quarter-on-quarter, the BCIs in 39 major categories was continued located in the business climate zone. Of the total, the BCIs of transport storage and postal industry, wholesale and retail trade, real-estate industry and social services stood at 130.7, 147.4, 135.8 and 130.8 respectively, promoted 12.9, 6.0, 2.2 and 11.8 points; that of accommodation and catering industry remained the same level with 122.3; that of information transmission, computer services, and software industry declined a little but that still stayed at a high level of 149.7, and that of construction dropped to some extent that less than the same period of all previous years.

The BCIs of various types of enterprises of registration kept surging in the business climate zone for three consecutive quarters. Of which, the BCIs of state-owned enterprises, collective enterprise, share-holding corporations Ltd. and private enterprises stood at 130.4, 112.2, 143.6 and 126.6 respectively, increased between 2 and 7 points; that of limited liability companies, Kong, Macao, and Taiwan and foreign invested enterprises respectively was 129.2, 131.6 and 141.4, remained the same level over previous quarter. The BCI of cooperative corporations declined to 112.9 quarter-on-quarter.

The BCI of large sized enterprises had striking promoted to 158.6, with the increase of 7.9 points over last quarter. The BCIs of medium and small sized enterprises respectively increase to 132.3 and 113.8 quarter-on-quarter.

The BCIs of eastern, central and western regions was 134.0, 133.7 and 129.7, which were all increased and that of the central had the highest level of 3.5 points.

National pilot enterprises and listed companies had promoted strikingly. In the first quarter, the BCIs of national pilot enterprises and listed companies gained 156.1and 154.8, climbed 14.3 and 10.2 points, that of State key enterprises and state-owned holding enterprises was 156.9 and 135.5, respectively surging 7.4 and 4.3 points quarter-on-quarter.

*Social services in Business Climate Survey was including leasing and business services, environment and public facilities management industry, residents services and other services, not including information transmission, computer services and software industry, accommodation and catering industry.
