China: Producer Prices for the Industrial Sector for July 2011

In July 2011, Producer Price Index (PPI) for manufactured goods remained the same level over last month, and increased 7.5% year-on-year. The purchasing price index for manufactured goods rose 0.1% over last month, and soared 11% year-on-year.

The month-on-month change of producer prices for means of production remained the same level. In which, producer prices for mining and quarrying industry decreased 0.3%; that of raw materials industry and machining industry remained the same level. Producer prices for means of consumer goods grew 0.2% over the previous month. Of which, producer prices for foodstuff increased 0.5% ; that of clothing and commodities rose 0.2% and 0.2%, while that of durable consumer goods remained the same level.

The year-on-year change of producer prices for means of production increased 8.4%. Of the total, producer prices for mining and quarrying industry increased 18.1%; that of raw materials industry and machining industry correspondingly up by 12.1% and 5.8%. Producer prices for means of consumer goods grew 4.8%. Of which, producer prices for foodstuff increased 8.6%; that of clothing and commodities rose 4.5% and 4.5%, while that of durable consumer goods dropped 0.5%.

The month-on-month purchaser price indexes for non-ferrous-metals increased 1.3%, that of fuel and power decreased 0.5%, that of ferrous metals remained the same level while that of chemical raw material declined 0.1%.

The year-on-year purchaser price indexes for non-ferrous-metals increased 18.9%, that of fuel and power, ferrous metals and chemical raw material respectively rose 12.6%, 10.2% and 13.3%.
