China: Entrepreneur Confidence Index Went up in the Third Quarter 2010

According to the results of nationwide survey showed that entrepreneur confidence index (ECI) gained 135.9 in the third quarter, 2.9 points higher over previous quarter.

The ECIs had some increased in majority industries. In the third quarter, the ECIs of industry, construction, transport, storage and postal services, wholesale and retail trade, real estate, hotel and catering services reached 133.4, 145.1, 131.9, 144.8, 120.7 and 134.4, respectively promoted 2.4, 2.3, 3.9, 5.4, 11.4 and 2.6 points over the second quarter this year. The ECI of information transmission and computer services and software industry was 150.0, remained the same level over the last quarter; and that of social services stood at 134.8, a slight decrease over previous quarter.

The majority of entrepreneurs’ confidence of registered enterprises went up. The ECIs of collective enterprises, cooperative enterprises, limited liability corporations, private Enterprises, enterprises invested by Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign funded enterprises stood at 119.9, 120.2, 132.7, 125.5, 139.5 and 143.1, which promoted 6.2, 2.5, 4.1, 1.9, 7.4 and 3.0 points over previous quarter; that of state-owned and share-holding enterprises got 134.4 and 140.1, remained the same level.

All the ECIs of large, medium and small sized enterprises promoted. In the third quarter, the ECIs of larger. Medium and small sized enterprises stood at 149.3, 135.7 and 122.8, with an increase of 1.6, 2.3 and 4.3 points respectively.

The ECIs of eastern, central and western regions got an overall promotion, stood at 135.7, 137.5 and 134.7, increased 2.6, 3.1 and 3.2 points from last quarter.
