China: Entrepreneur Confidence Index Went Down in the Second Quarter

According to the results of nationwide survey showed that entrepreneur confidence index (ECI) gained 133.0 in the second quarter, fell 2.5 points over previous quarter.

The ECIs had some increased or decreased. In the second quarter, the ECIs of social services and accommodation and catering industry went up steadily, which stood at 136.4 and 131.8, respectively promoted 3.5 and 4.0 points; that of construction and transport, storage and postal industry was respectively 142.8 and 128.0, remained the same level; that of industry, wholesale and retail trade and information transmission and computer services and software industry respectively was 131.0, 139.4 and 149.0, decreased some extent over previous quarter; and that of real estate stood at 109.3, went down 23 points over the last quarter.

The majority of entrepreneurs’ confidence of registered enterprises went down. The ECIs of state-owned enterprises, joint-stock cooperative enterprises, enterprises invested by Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan stood at 133.9, 117.7 and 132.1, remained the same level with last quarter; that of collective enterprises, limited liability company, share-holding limited corporation, private enterprises and foreign invested enterprises were all went down quarter-on-quarter.

All the ECI of large, medium and small sized enterprises came down. In the second quarter, the ECI of larger enterprises stood at 147.7, stayed operation in a high level but decreased 4.3 points over the first quarter; that of medium and small sized enterprises stood at 133.4 and 118.5, with a decline of 2.7 and 2.6 points respectively.

The ECIs of central and western regions has put down. In the second quarter, the ECI of eastern region stood at 133.1, maintained the same level with the first quarter; that of central and western regions was 134.4 and 131.5, fell 5.1 and 3.7 points quarter-on-quarter.
